Food that will help mental roadblocks
Food choice is something that people who face mental roadblocks such as learning disabilities, should be very careful about what they are eating. Keeping a low sugar diet is essential, but were not going to focus too much on what not to put in your body, but certain foods that will keep your brain sharp. firstly, I will discuss the best brain food which is the walnut. Walnuts are rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acid which is known to strengthen memory. People with disorders such as ADHD should consider a diet that includes a lot of walnuts because people with ADHD are believed to have problems with their neurotransmitters not fully sending messages, and once they are sent they are often forgotten about instantly due to memory issues. Imaging the frustration when trying to process a thought, finally doing so and forgetting it? to avoid this, keep your memory as clear as possible. As well as walnuts, chocolate is also high in antioxidants which benefit you for the same reason. Lastly, a rare linolelic acid is great for people with learning roadblocks, it is found in breast milk, which is known to be crucial in development for babies. The list goes on, there is an unlimited amount of food that provide antioxidants, omega3 and will help to promote healthy brain development.
Soft Neurological signs
Soft Neurological signs are signs of a potential dysfunction of the central nervous system. Signs of this are: getting startled easily, turning your head instead of using your eyes conveniently, staring constantly. This cannot be easily diagnosed, it needs to be carefully assessed and even then the doctor cannot yet prove that there is a dysfunction problem. Researchers are currently studying a correlation between Soft Neurological signs and ADHD, which compares based on the slow speed maturation process that is found between the two still questioned mental roadblocks.
motor problems
Motor problems are a mental roadblock that effects performances in activities such as sports, writing and typing. It can also cause an inability to keep your head straight (literally) eye contact problems are also associated with motor problems. The 3 types of motor issues are perceptual, auditory and visual. Perceptual problems consist of issues mainly involving participation in sports, walking awkwardly and stiff as well as clumsiness. Auditory motor problems generally are associated with verbal direction following, following a beat, and taking notes. Lastly, visual motor issues cause a person to struggle with picking up on something that is demonstrated visually. For example, being shown a simple dance step. It is unfortunate, but motor problems are one of the many problems a person can have that effect their learning process.
Beacon College
Beacon College is a specialized school for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD. This school was founded on the hope for a change, and passion for helping people who are determined to be successful, but find learning to be a struggle. Beacon College offers programs such as History, Psychology, Business Management English Literature, Art and much more. The programs are designed and chooses as right brain thinking programs, which is the side of the brain many people with learning disorders generally use. Also, at Beacon College all of the professors are certified to work with people with learning problems, and they use special teaching techniques that are not usually used in a regular school. This is not to say that the work is easier, and that the students are not going to get a proper education. The work is just as challenging, it is not a free ride for these students. The lessons are just taught differently and in a smaller classroom. I find it very necessary to have schools like this because having a learning disorder put a lot of committed students at a disadvantage. In today's society, having a school like this is a blessing, whereas not too long ago, problems such as ADHD and dyslexia were not understood yet. The students who had these problems were simply labeled as stupid and destined to fail. Nobody should ever have a better chance at their dream life simple because of their mental roadblocks. I hope in the future to see more post secondary schools opened up for the mass amount of students who need to be taught differently and in different environments.
